Our first LARP Quadruple-Header

What a BLAST!

Not only did we just pull off the impossible, but we had a lot of fun doing it!

It's no surprise that 2020 has been a terrible year for many of us, none more than public events and festivals, who will likely be cancelled until late 2021 at LEAST. With our biggest order of stock to date arriving on November 14th, we decided we would strap ourselves in for the biggest LARP week of 2020.

On Tuesday 17th, with our poor car packed to bursting, we left the LARP Den at 10am, Rob in tow. We drove from our home in Quakers Hill, to Albury/Wodonga via Gundagai (mandatory ritual stop) in order to attend Stormglow LARP's Tuesday night game. It was a heck of a drive, as we had spent the entire night before ensuring everything was price-tagged, sorted, stacked carefully and that we had everything we needed.

After arriving, we were met with the enthusiastic and helpful crowd at Stormglow, who helped us unload and set up the stalls. We had not even unfolded our table fabric, when the first customer made a purchase! A Broadbelt! Amazing!

From that point on, it was a blur. So many new faces with even more questions as we were mobbed by ready customers. We worked the stall, and even briefly graced the battlefield but, sadly, the short event ended and we retired to our quarters after tetris-ing the car again. We shot off early in the morning, in order to get home so I could go to work, and Lysa could do the work that had piled up whilst we were gone. Then, on the Friday, Battlecry's 2nd game back since COVID arrived.

Battlecry was crazy, and normally as a stall holder it's busy, with almost 50 attendees each week, the stall is often crowded. However doing the role of Lead GM/Event organiser/Covid Officer proved too much, resulting in far more stress than I wanted.

After Battlecry Markoth on Friday was the most anticipated event in my personal calendar. Five Islands help their first event! Holy moly what a blast! It was fantastic to be involved. Our stall took a lot of attention, which was great and even got a few new players keen on joining.

We hung around with the admin team at 5i to congratulate them on a job well done and a bottle of champagne was popped to celebrate, then it was home again to repack, re-organise and get some sleep before we drove up to Battlecry, Fields of Ashnoor!

The Sunday was an awesome end to an insane week, we got to hang out with some new faces, as well as catch up with (and fight) with some old friends. We will endeavor to drive up to Ashnoor more often, we promise ;).

All in all, it was highly eventful, exciting, and a lot of fun. The Battlecry community in particular is growing at a rapid pace, it's amazing to be a part of it.

Thank you all for your support! We will see you again soon.
