The closing of 2024, What a rollercoaster!
Season’s Greetings!
As we close out the year, we wanted to take a moment to share some highlights, updates, and stories from 2024.
This year has truly been a rollercoaster for us—full of challenges, growth, and unforgettable moments. We began the year feeling stressed and uncertain, after being knocked back and then added to the long waitlist. However, things took a turn for the better when we received an invitation to participate in the Blacktown Medieval Faire. This event was a huge milestone for us, confirming that we could successfully run a large, multi-tent display. It was a pivotal moment that proved our potential.
Winterfest followed closely behind, presenting another massive challenge but also an incredible experience. We were fortunate to have a brilliant team step up and support us, and without them, pulling off this event would have been nearly impossible. Hearing such positive feedback from the public—especially from those who remembered us from previous years—was truly heartwarming. One person even mentioned they had been waiting for us to return! The event left us beaming and ready for the next event.
In the midst of it all, we received the biggest surprise in Britt falling pregnant! Starting our family while managing a business and full-time jobs will certainly bring new challenges, but we're ready to face them together. I promised myself I wouldn't bring our personal lives into this too much, but It's pretty difficult not to shout from the hilltops how inspired and proud I am of this woman, doing everything she is - whilst carrying our child.
Unfortunately, we missed out on the Newcastle Medieval Faire this year due to clerical issues outside our control. We’ve always enjoy being part of inaugural events, and we’re excited to be involved next year. Newcastle is close to our hearts, with two fantastic clubs in the area, so participating there in 2025 is a top priority for us.
We capped off the year with the very first Drachenfest Australia. It was an amazing experience, but camping for five days while navigating Britt’s pregnancy was certainly a challenge we’ll be better prepared for in the future! The event was made even more memorable by our wonderful friends Jay, L & J, Aaron, Dan, Drew, Ben, George, and Joel, along with the new connections we made along the way.
Overall, 2024 has been a year of growth—both personally and professionally. We've pushed ourselves further than we thought possible, developed a clearer direction for our brand, and formed invaluable relationships that will guide us in the coming year.
Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be another exciting year! Although we’ll be busy with a newborn and both of our jobs ramping up, Adventurer’s Bastion is set to undergo some key changes. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store:
-
Restructuring: We’re planning a slight restructuring to make the business more organized, resilient, and future-proof. While these changes will be gradual to minimize disruption, they’ll help us operate more efficiently moving forward.
-
Better Stocking: We aim to provide more consistent stock of our core range, ensuring we can always meet demand for our most popular products. Regular restocks will be a key focus for 2025.
-
More Events: We have a growing list of events we’d like to attend, which means we’ll be stretching ourselves a bit thinner. But we’re excited to connect with even more people and expand our presence in the community. Of course, we may need to bring in more help to make it all possible!
-
Website Improvements: Our website is good, but we want it to be great. In 2025, we’ll focus on making it easier for you to find what you're looking for, sort products more efficiently, and enjoy a smoother shopping experience.
To everyone who has supported us this year and those who purchased equipment in 2024—thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, and from our growing family, we are deeply grateful for your custom and unwavering support. You're helping us build something truly special, and we couldn’t do it without you.
See you in 2025!
